Author Pat Loewi, found fuel behind this masterpiece in her daughter Samantha. Despite battling muscular dystrophy, Sammy made the most out of every moment. Her spunk is what made her stand out; not her disability. She made sure that while she was here, she would make her mark. At the young age of 22, she would pass on unexpectedly, but in many ways Samantha still lives on. One of the ways being directly through this book.
Shout provides insight and understanding of children with disability and difficulty. In giving them a voice, we can continue to spread the message. Beyond the words of wisdom and creative artwork, the end of the book grants us a real treat. It brings awareness on bringing a stop to the devastation of bullying. It shows us how we can and should get involved in this movement.
We all have wishes that we keep quietly inside. But what if we let them out? What if by saying them, we could make them come true. Read the book. Spread the world. We have the power to gift the world, and our schools, a much brighter place for our kids to be.
