When most people talk about style and layering, they are talking tanks under tees under sweaters under scarves... But today, we are chatting jewelry. If you've ever been to Kismet, then you know we have a strong philosophy of 'more is more.' More color, more individuality, more you. Jewelry is no exception.
Why wear one necklace when you can wear three or four or ... ? For me, I tend to pile on as the day goes--starting with my Christy Lea Payne initial charm in the morning and then finding myself three necklaces deep while at dinner with my girlfriends. There is no true science to layering necklaces, but here are some quick tips to making it look effortless and cool:
1. Start with a basic: My trick is always starting with my everyday necklace and layering from there. Our everyday necklaces typically have some sort of sentimental value to us, so there is no better canvas!
2. Mix your metals: The age-old rule of only wearing silver with silver and gold with gold is gone ladies! Don't be afraid to mix it all together! Throw in some beads while you are at it.
3. Diversify chain length: Start at the nape of your neck and work your way down. Good spacing between necklaces will also help you not get tangled.
Ready to layer up? Stop into any Kismet location. We have new everyday pieces from Chocolate and Steel, B.U. and Mercer and Jayne and boho statement jewelry from Christy Lea Payne that will have you believing that more truly is more.
