As a writer and a quote lover, I cannot help but be intrigued by a new trend showing up in home decor; signs with lettering. Words and letters have the power to move and intrigue us, while changing the entire ambiance of a room. I like the idea of decorating with words, because it can represent an array of different thoughts and ideas. It can prompt reflection on the purpose of a room. It’s something that can make the experience of time at home more meaningful.
Whether you are decorating for the holidays, decorating a new home, or revamping an old home, it is a simple way to channel creative and cozy into the winter months. Words on the wall are conversation starters and good reminders, as we trudge forward during this busy time of year. The old barn wood used by Second Nature can be a nice touch to any style you decide to create in your personal space. Words that are crafted well are known to leave an impact, and it’s a way to give a room real personality.
I always have a hard time deciding what to gift others for the holidays and I think these may be my “go to” for this season. It’s a gift that can become the reminder in someone’s day when they open the package and read the saying, “Never settle for anything less than butterflies.” Or it may be the laughter in someone’s day when they receive the one that says, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” I mean, who wouldn’t want that one....There is a plaque for every personality.
“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.” Robin Williams. They can change a home too; and I got time for that.
